How
to ApplyRegistration fees and Re-enrollment forms must be submitted to the school office by April 15th to be considered for enrollment in the following school year. Space in class may be given to incoming students if fees are not received on time. Student behavior as well as academic stability will be considered prior to acceptance for current student re-enrollment.
Laurelcrest offers open enrollment throughout the year. However, the bulk of enrollment is decided in April of each year, so interested families are encouraged to apply prior to that time, if possible. Kindergarten assessment begins even earlier, in February. If you are interested in Laurelcrest’s kindergarten program, please contact the school by the beginning of February, if possible.
The enrollment process begins with a parental tour of the school.
Your visit will include a tour of the campus and review of curriculum
and school programs appropriate to your child's grade, and should
take approximately one hour. Call the school office to schedule an
appointment. Your daughter is welcome to come, too.
We encourage as many visits as families need to feel comfortable
with their match to Laurelcrest's programs and philosophy. If, after
touring the campus, the parent feels Laurelcrest is the right choice
for their daughter, the student’s visit for assessment should
be scheduled.
All prospective students are assessed prior to acceptance to the
school. The applicant spends the day as a guest in her current grade
level. During the visit, your daughter will be formally assessed,
as well as observed interacting with classmates. The observation
allows the teacher and Head of School to assess the student's skills
for possible placement in smaller groups within the class. A student “ambassador” will
be assigned to help your daughter feel welcome and ensure a pleasant
visit.
Please bring the following the morning of your daughter’s visit:
$50 Assessment Fee
Application for Enrollment (Received via mail or at parental visit)
Report Cards
Standardized Test Results
Teacher Recommendations / Comments
(These documents vary from grade to grade. Please bring all that are appropriate to your daughter’s grade level. The Application for Enrollment Form and Assessment Fee are required.)
A letter will be mailed to the parents after all application materials have been received and the assessment is complete. If the student is accepted to Laurelcrest, a parent mentor will be assigned to the incoming family to help facilitate a smooth transition into the Laurelcrest community.
