Middle School Detention and Tardy Information

If a girl receives three warnings, she must serve a detention after school. You will receive a notification about the detention and the date it is to be served (always on Wednesdays).

Teachers give warnings for the following:
An unexcused tardy (see below)
Not turning in an assignment at the date and time that it is due
Inappropriate behavior

There are two types of tardies: Excused and Unexcused:
Excused tardy: If a student arrives late to campus through no fault of her own, then the adult bringing her to school needs to proceed to the office for a tardy slip. When a student presents a tardy slip to her teacher, the tardy is marked as an excused tardy.

Unexcused tardy: If a student does not have tardy slip, being late is unexcused. This means that she was on campus on time, but failed to be in her seat and ready for class at the appropriate start time (whether that is 8:30 in the morning for the first class, or after recess or lunch)

Please remind your daughters that if they do enter a class late, they need to do so quietly and join in on the learning without disrupting the rest of the class.

We hope this helps clarify the school's prodecures. If you have any questions, please discuss them with Ms.Wibroe.
