Third Grade

This sounds like real school!

Getting an assignment book to keep track of things is an exciting entrance into the world of being a student. They can't stop reading and the pages fly! Homework takes on a new purpose for practice, management and awareness. They are charmed by the antics of the other children and of animal characters in the books they choose. They have just discovered the power of reference material--it's all in here! When they study native cultures and how they used natural resources, you will see them constructing dwellings for strength and comparing the materials they used to build them. Models are everywhere. Murals and paintings cover the walls. They are glancing at the issues of the bigger world and asking questions about the environment and their role in preserving it. Field trips are still highly social but committed to "findng out" information they want to fit into their class learning--the aquarium is a favorite. The real primary grades are coming to an end!
